winning and wheazing

In more frisbee news, my team won the men's league championship championship last Saturday. Tournaments are fun even if you don't win, but when you do it's quite an ego boost. The other teams usually stick around to watch the finals and, by virtue of it being the finals, everything you do is automatically a cut above all those average players who didn't make it. Then afterward, if your tournament happens to have a party after the finals (often for 2-day, weekend tournaments, the party will be on Saturday, between the 2 days of play), you get to strut around and be complimented all night.

The crazy part is, the finals came down to a few questionable foul calls and whoever had been eating the most vitamin A, since it was almost pitch black by the time we finally scored the last point, beating them 15 to 14. So in reality, we are only ever so slightly better --or just more lucky-- than the other guys. But that little bit makes all the difference...

If you were curious, since my last post I have made absolutely no progress whatsoever toward starting a team on campus.

In unrelated news, this Thursday will be first time since May 8, 2007 that I have seen, in person, anyone I knew before that date, which is kind of weird when you think about it that way. This previous acquaintance and I (ok... it's my dad) are going to a relatively remote and undeveloped area and it will hopefully be boatloads of fun. I'm a bit worried about not meeting my RDA of diesel smoke for a few days, though, so wish me luck. That was sarcasm.
