The new batch is here, and I got to meet them last weekend and show them how to inflate their new life vests.

There are a lot of islands here, you see.

And now there are a few more Americans, excited and dismayed and surprised by many of the same things we were, however-many-millenia ago. We aren't seeing it all from the other side, certainly, just a little farther down, but it's still kind of weird. It's strange how you gain knowledge and experience almost by default, and then suddenly you are the expert. I don't feel like an expert most of the time.
