...is air conditioned, and there is a fan blowing my hair in my face. It's annoying, but a welcome respite from the fans simply evaporating the constant sweat emerging from my pores.
All the cliches are true. The Philippines are hot. The people are amazingly friendly. Everyone thinks I look like Jesus.
It's disorienting, though, because it feels so familiar sometimes. This could be a back road anywhere. This could be a sunset anywhere. This could be a smile anywhere. Sometimes I have to remind myself that it's so strange.
Other times I don't. Other times my body reminds me, violently. But we're on some gastrointestinal medication now and things have stabilized.
